Level 12 is a big level that introduces lots of content - freedom, guilds, and tournaments. You will be able to start competing in the Player Tournament that runs every 3 weeks, explained in the next guide. Level 12 removes the training wheels on Sundale and allows you to start picking your personalized strategy to build and grow. Land is the most valuable asset in the game, and this needs to be balanced with buildings that are limited to only one, so you have to find a good system of attaining land, efficiently using land, and upgrading single build buildings. After the player tournament (next guide), I will give you a strategy to make your farm seem bigger, and adapt to guild projects and market demands.
Level 12 unlocks the Guild System, a core feature that connects you with other players for cooperative and competitive team play.
The heart of a Guild is continuous participation in Projects and Helps:
More details on projects can be found on the Guild Page.
The Guild system introduces a mechanism for helping to fill Barge and Train (Level 20) orders, which benefits both parties.
Asking for Help: When you click on an empty Barge or Train crate, you have an option to Ask for Help. A guildmate can fill the crate for you.
Giving Help (Filling Crates):
A Good Guildmate: Mature farms - split your asks between things you genuinely need help with, and the easiest crates you have to help other members (especially smaller farms) earn loyalty points. As a Guild, you can also strategically fill the crates of members competing hard in Player Tournament
A new reward currency - the Loyalty Point - is introduced with Guilds. You earn it from Daily Quests, participating in projects, and giving helps. You can use it to buy goodies in the shop (Daily Deals in the Shopping Cart), or purchase and upgrade the 3 best decorations in the game, starting with the Porch Swing for Sundale. My advice is to save them for upgrading decorations, unless you see an amazing deal in the shop.
You will need to define what amazing looks like yourself. I know I'm not willing to pay 200 loyalty points for materials I can earn by sending 2 contracts. The space saved from good decorations is more important.
There is an issue that because online games have a high turnover, and we are just starting out, there are lots of new players that go to apply to a guild and hear nothing. That is because the leader has already stopped playing and it is essentially a dead guild. I applied to 9 guilds, messaging the leaders, and heard from one, 4 days later. I joined an open guild with all black dots (inactive for 3 days). It wasn't until I had a friend in a guild send me an invite that I found a home.
What I recommend is that you utilize the guild tab in the world rankings interface (trophy under your name) and message the top guilds. I have chatted with many of them and they would love to hear from you. Alternatively, watch guilds in the 10 - 50 range that have a point increase over a few hours, because that means they are doing projects. (Screenshots are great for this.)
It is not easy to get into an active guild right now, but it should get better with time. You also want to find one that is a good fit with a good leadership team (be wary of one person doing it all). A guild really makes or breaks this game. I will do more on guilds at a later time.
