The Player Tournament (Recurring Event) runs every 3 weeks. It pits you against other players. Points are earned by fulfilling Market, Barge, and Train (Level 20) orders. On market contracts, you can see the points listed in the contract rewards. For the Barge, points are earned by both filling crates (shown on the crate) and sending the full barge. The train gives you points per crate and also a large number of points if you complete the full train.
There are 6 reward milestones.
Group Play: After surpassing the second reward milestone, you enter group play where winners move up in rank, and others are demoted (self-balancing). Small, active farms can compete directly with large, relaxed farms. The system is self balancing and based on skill, not level or size. If you read this guide, you will most likely be competing against bigger farms because you will be agile and efficient.
When you go to the Player Tournament Tent (located across the main highway from Sundale), you will notice there are 6 rewards up the left side. These are your Milestones. You enter group play after surpassing the second milestone. I have noticed a bug that if you surpass multiple milestones at once (very easy in the low levels), you will only be given one and will need to restart the game to get the rest.
Happiness is Your Competition Score Multiplier. The points earned in the Tournament are directly affected by your overall Happiness level. Your Happiness target must shift from cost control (Level 5) to maximum output.
The market gives you full coins and tournament points (per product). This is our baseline. Barges give you the same coins and 3x the Tournament points. The train gives you 65% of the coin and the same Tournament points if no rows are complete. It will give you 195% (almost double) coins and 4x the Tournament points if complete.
